I agree, Fulmer was not the problem. I wish a few of these fans would have been hollering one more year for him instead of what we have now. Dooley wouldnt even make the list as an assistant in Fulmers day. Good grief things are worse than ever in K town.

Only to Fulmerites like yourself..Unless CDD sweeps the last 2 games his record will be the same as Phil's at 5&7..

Yes. Thanks to Mike Hamilton and a few other dummies in the UT Administration, the good ole days are gone forever.

Except Dooley never beat anybody worth noting and I seriously doubt Dooley will ever win a Championship. Here are the numbers on Fulmers first three years.I will leave out his first year wich he shared with Coach majors
Fulmer:29-7 overall 19-5 in conference.
Dooley to date: 15-20 overall 4-18 in conference.

The 5-7 year you noted for fulmer was his worst season, the year prior to that he was 10-4.

The Vols finished in the top 25 15 times in 17 seasons with only 2 losing seasons.

So please tell me again why Phillip Fulmer is responsible for the state of UT football.

People wanted change after one bad year and they got it 4 bad years in a row. I would gladly take a bad Fulmer year over the mess we have now. At least he knew how to win.

Vols fans knew what it felt like to win big games back then, now here we are hoping for wins against Vandy and Kentucky.

Fulmerite you say, Ive stood behind every coach that the Vols have had since the Early sixties, including Coach Dooley until last week. I applaud your stubbornness and Loyalty to Dooley and for the sake of the players I wish you were right, but sometimes you just get a lemon. We have different opinions about Dooley and thats fine.

Blaming one of best coaches ever at UT for whats happening now is just plain ridiculous.

Thats a dumb comment. Its hard to make it to a super bowl, let alone win one. Thats like saying Nick Saben won the national championchip at Bama was because of Mike Shula. Dumb comment, coaches win by coaching I don't care who's players they have.

Gruden has that "wow" factor that would bring big name recruits in. He is passionate about football and brings an energy wherever he goes.
I remember when Dooley was hired, everyone was scratching their hads and laughing at us. Who the hell was this guy and why did he deserve to coach at UT? Mike Hamilton and Jimmy Cheek screwed us, no way around it. If they would of dug down and pulled out the money the way Bama did for Saben, we wouldn't be having this comment right now. What I heard thru the grapevine, we was close to signing him 3 years ago but they couldn't get the final figure on his contract write. Now, we are in the basement of the SEC and are losing money day by day. And needless to say, are gonna have to pay the money that Hamilton and Cheek didn't want to give Gruden 3 years ago when they have to pay Dooley and his staff $9 million when they are fired.

I've heard it's not going to happen until after the UK game regardless of what happens on the field. After the Fulmer firing was botched by Hamilton, Hart is making sure he doesn't affect the rest of the season.

Yeah, that little whiny rant cost him his job also.

The last thing the program needs is another uninspired post-

I don't think the seniors will vote against a bowl..Especially the NFL type players like Hunter that are undecided on coming back for another season.

Actually I have, go back and read your own post where you put Fulmer and Kiffen as the reason for UTs problems. I agree completely about Kiffen but Coach Fulmer did nothing to deserve all the hate he gets. In fact I think most of it comes from fans who never went to a single game he coached and probably dont even know his record. With the exception of the name calling I usually agree with your post. Ive read plenty of them over the last 2 or three years. I just dont think its Fulmers fault that Hamilton and a few Boosters started a train crash here in knoxville.

Little did anyone know when UT was recruiting Michael Oher (aka the blind side) at Briarcrest the real difference maker was Hugh Freeze..Too bad Phil didn't bring Hugh in as OC and HC in waiting.

Dooley didn't wreck this program, Fulmer/Kiffin did that. CDD was very close to turning this around and if not for the Wilcox/Sermon defections this would have been an excellent year.

What are you drinking. Dooley could not turn it around if he had 10 more years. Fulmer had a couple of bad years and it's all his fault. No way Fulmer would have let it sink this far. It's 0-6 heading for 0-7 then 0-8. What's excellant about that. Oh and Dooley is accountable for the defense. He's failed. Over his head. Not a clue.

In that case I meant District Attorney..I'm not a Fulmer hater, just can't understand his inability to win without Cutcliffe at his side.

I stand by my comment and if you don't agree, I don't give a shirt..CDD inherited most of this problem and has done the best he can (which isn't good enough) to rebuild this program. Fulmer had two losing seasons out of 4 so he was slowly eroding the program from the heights it had enjoyed in the late 90's-2002.

Hugh Freeze is a brilliant offensive coach and recruiter. Look at what he is doing on CBS to LSU and chief's defense. He took a 2-10 Ole Miss to a bowl eligible competitive team in his 1st year with scrub players! You Dooley lovers want to talk about depleted rosters, no talent, and a mess to work with.......look at Ole Miss. The ole ball coach was making fun of them at the SEC media days. I gurantee the ole ball coach does not want to play them this year or the next few years with Hugh Freeze there. Hugh Freeze is a great coach that knows how to make 1 star players look like 5 star winners. Dooley makes 3 and 4 star players look like 1 star duds. 3 years of being mediocre and just winning 6 games a year is enough for me. It saddens me to hear all these bandwagon UT fans give that idiot 1 more year to tear this program apart and make is the laughing stock of SEC football. Needless to say what Saben and Stallings say, they are laughing their a*ses off all the way back to Tuscaloosa. Dooley needs to go back to being his momma's boy and leave UT!

Do you realize how stupid that sounds? Hart wants UT to fail so he's risking his huge salary and any shot at ever being an AD again to sabotage UT..I'm certain you solved that case, Sherlock.

Well it just pisses me off hearing these fair weather bandwagon fans talk about nothing they truely know about. These are the same ones, who suddenly became UT fans after Fulmer won us the national championship in 98'. Hell they probably don't even know who John Ward is either! How a person can call themselves a fan after 3 bad years and then want another year from the same idiot that gave you the 3 bad ones is unbelievable to me. THIS IS TENNESSEE! WE DO NOT LOSE......PERIOD! Either you win games, or get your sweet a*s out of town! Thats how football is. Do you think Bama would have kept Saben if he had 3 6 win seasons? Nope. Mike Hamilton and Jimmy Cheek ruined UT football, basketball, and baseball! And Hamilton got paid $1.3 million for doing it! Just unbelievable.
