Not impressed with the new staff other than Monte. I'm still bothered by how the fans gave up when Fulmer had a rough go last season with a new offensive coordinator who was trying to impliment the spread that so many folks acted like they wanted...if we were more than five years removed from an Eastern Division championship I might have been a bit more inclined to have gone along with a move, but not a year removed...and please tell me that none of you would rather have Brian Kelly of Cincinnati so I can call you all liars. I didn't want him myself because I didn't feel like Fulmer should've been let go, but given the circumstances and a choice between Kiffin and Kelly there's no question Kelly would be my guy...track record is everything. Don't expect Kiffin to stick around more than another year or two.
I hate stupid people!!! Why don't you just leave the VOLS and go to some loser program since it's obvious your a loser.............. Maybe if Fulmer gets a coaching job in VA you can go up there. I personally don't want someone as stupid as you in my stadium or even watching on tv.
CPF wouldn't have had the recruiting class that Kiffin had, therefore you have nothing to base your comments on. You don't know if Fulmer would have been able to turn Crompton around (Sure didn't seem like he was able to last year though). Just get over the fact that he isn't the coach anymore! You say that Fulmer would have gone 9-3 this year. Thats about as factual as me saying that Kiffin would have gone 8-4 in '08 with the team we had then. Our recruiting class this past year went from about #17 with Fulmer to a top ten class with Kiffin. I liked Fulmer too but there is no use crying over spilt milk.
4-8 at best. other than vanderbilt, i'm not sure we would've won any conference games with what probably would've been an offense greatly resembling last years. no offense to fulmer(who during his hey-day, was a great head coach), but fulmer was never a great offensive coach, the only time our offense thrived under fulmer was when david cutcliff was calling plays. Lane Kiffin is not only our head coach, but he's running the offense, and doing one heck of a job i might add. look at what he did with crompton, the line, and hardesty. i'm telling you guys, once he gets his own players in here and actually has some years to work with them, sky's the limit for this offense. and monte kiffin hasn't done too shabby either, playing with a patchwork injury plagued defense. yesterday's history, today is a gift, and the future looks pretty bright. sorry to spoil some of you trolls' dreams, kiffin might have himself one heck of a mouth, which i do wish he would keep shut sometimes, but make no mistake, this guy can coach.
Great year all things considered. Kiffin has set UT up to win for many years with his coaching staff and recruiting. UF and bama, enjoy it while you got it because you've seen the last of what a win against UT looks like for a long time coming.
It's hard to belive that 27 percent thought this season "was better than I thought it would be"--Did they really think we would not come out with seven(7) wins minimum?I can see the losing games in mind of Florida,Auburn,Georgia,Alabama,I also see Western Ky.,UCLA,Ohio,S.Carolina,Memphis,Ole Miss,Vandy and Kentucky as probable wins and if you could have given me the info ahead of time that we would lose to Gators by ten(10)-Bama by two(2)after blowing three(3) field goals--then I would have thought we should not have lost but two(2) games--now I realize that the Ole Miss game was lost when those two stupid thugs went on a cheeseburger robbing spree after smoking the dutchie with the equally stupid witchiepooh, and I realize that we were lucky to win a game with that idiot Q.B.,but when are the standards so low for the Vols football team that the fans belive we are not going to win at least seven games?I thought the absolute worst we could do was to lose five(5) games and I was looking forward to a two loss season looking at the Gators at the swamp and the Tide in Tuscaloosa though after "Kiffy" got me so pumped about smoking cigars and singing "Rocky Top" "all nite long",heck,I personally didn't belive Al Davis and his "lane is a liar" statement and was ready to play the Tide in Atlanta for a shot at the Nat. Championship, but I guess you guys didn't have as much belief in the Big Orange as I always do have and always will!I don't think the Vols should ever go into a season beliving that seven victories is "getting it done" and I hope "Kiffy" don't think he did anything other than an average to poor job of Coaching and I hope he doesn't think that seven wins is gonna endear him to the fans that i sit with and talk to every day,'cause most of us don't think that the Vols should have eight home games and come away with only seven wins,"kiffy" needs to be thinking a little clearer when he runs that mouth next year about anything Urbam meyer is or ain't doing 'cause it looks to me like "Kiffy" has a big shoe to step into if he is gonna do as well as Urban who has won two championships and working on his third out of the last four years and I ain't been singing nuthing but the blues on that third game of the schedule lately.C'mon "kiffy" shut your mouth and bucle up your chinstrap and let's something going besides you giant mouth!~

Standards at UT became that low thanks to your god phillip fulmer. this team was 4-8 at best if fulmer was still coaching. can't win without an offense gator. nice try though, you pose pretty good as a vol supporter.

Orangepride, you need to smell what you are trying to shovel;Fulmer was in the SEC championship in the season before the diaster season that got him fired;you said I thought Fulmer was God then sadi "Nice try Gator fan"?you need to figure out the math on that stupid pair of accusations! They don't match,go with one or the other before you cut loose with your mouth in gear, try starting that pea brain!I'll tell you this much,I wanted Johnny majors as our Coach 'til he decided to retire and I dislike Fat Phil which is what I called him in my first post,so how do you figure I think he is God?I don't like the Florida gators, but I think it looks stupid for our Coach to be saying stupid things about urban meyer when the gators have owned us since he became their head coach, truthfully, they've owned us for longer than that, but I don't see how Fulmer lowered our standards with a Nat. Championship and trips to the SEC champ. game and usually contending for the SEC East title. My point was that we should not have fans thinking that 7-5 was "about what they thought" coming into the season from a team that looked good coming into the season,"Kiffy" belived we were good enough to beat Florida and "sing Rocky Top all nite long";Most Vol fans(on this posting board) thought we would take it to UCLA and I read the post about the certain destruction of Ole Miss as we rolled thru November undefeated. Those two wins make us 9-3 instead of 7-5 and i think most Vol fans had us there and not at 7-5 (IF) they were being honest.I certainly thought we were a better team than 7-5 and I still think we are.I am a Vol fan,I just ain't a blind Jim Jones Kool-Aid drinking "Kiffy" fan.If I dislike a big mouthed bragging, then not backing it up Coach, that's my right. Why did we think "Kiffy" was so special coming in here? What had he done other than convince Al Davis that he was the savior of the Raiders franchise? He convinced the Vol business men(that run this program) the same thing.I am not sure that he is "all that" and a bag of chips.Time will tell!Satisfied?
