I don't like the contract extension provision based on NCAA sanctions - seems to me that it neutralizes the effect of the NCAA perhaps not wanting to punish the new minority coach for the perp coach's crimes. The NCAA can reason, "For every year of our hammer, the new guy who we like gets a million bucks plus out of it, so what the hey - plus we get to make an example of UT and maybe instill a little fear in the big boys." If they needed a provision like that to sign Martin, they should have at least kept it strictly confidential until the NCAA had ruled. Another Hamilton screw up?
