Pearl single-handedly brought the UT program out of the dark ages. The program was dead when he arrived. He set a precedent that UT can be successful in basketball.

He made a terrible decision when he lied about having 3 high school juniors at his home for a cookout. But he is the reason basketball means something again in Big Orange Country.
