1. Stokes recruiting process was started by Pearl. There's no indication had he never been contacted by Pearl he would have even considered Tennessee.

2. His availability was only due to a bad ruling by the TSSAA. Had he been able to play his Senior year of high school, teams like Kentucky and Memphis would have had scholarships available for him and might have factored into his decision, whereas in December neither team had a scholarship.

3. He's one of eight players Martin has signed, and the only one who is an SEC calibur player. 1 for 8 is not going to win SEC Championships.
