Tyler needs to understand there are fans whose whole life and manhood depends on how he plays. They say, " 'We're' going to kick MSU's butt." When the team loses, their Walter Mitty lives are crushed. They hate Tyler because they are now no longer "big men." Of course, they themselves probably were not good enough to play pee-wee ball.
