A.J. Johnson is a warrior, no question. But, his fundamentals at ILB are middle-schoolish. Has no clue on how to take on a blocker, especially the center. Does not seem to know where his 'help' is- and constantly takes on the blocker from the wrong angle, inviting the RB to break to the side where there is absolutely nothing but air. Also, those amazingly contact-free runs that we've given up on the goal-line (and from 80 yards out) are a result of him taking bad angles and getting caught up in the inside traffic. Only thing worse are his pass-coverage skills- yuk! All of these problems are fixable- with a little fundamental coaching work. Tell me again- who coaches our LBs?
