Actually Vandy is peaking. Playing pretty good ball. Vols have just lost the will to win. Dooley will be gone. It's as good as a slam dunk. Once Vanderbilt beats the Vols we can officially rename James Franklin as the "Coach Killer", having beaten Joker Phillips, Gene Chizik and Derek Dooley on their way out the door. Not a chance that Gruden takes over for Dooley. And even though they're flirting with Petrino, don't bet on that either.This has been a very tough year and a questionable call to hire LB coach and make him your DC and switch to a 3-4. Georgia had their first losing season under CMR the year they switched to a 3-4. With huge coaching departures and changes in systems there was just no way to recover with any real speed. There were just not enough positives to pull the program up to a competitive gear. No amount of shower protocol, orange ceramic dogs, hybrid bamboo or Puerto Rican prom pants were going to have any sustainable effect. And that is a shame. UT has been a dynasty in the SEC. I think supporters and rivals would be happy to see her competitive again.
