"Dave Hart says new coach will have opportunity to revive Tennessee football program"
Where have we heard that before? How about a definition of "opportunity". Is that five minutes, two years, three years, for the duration of the contract? How about staff; who gets to choose those? Penalty free, or are dings OK if you are winning? How do wins and losses enter in to the agreement, and is a loss just a loss no matter the ranking of the opponent? In that case shouldn't the prospective coach get to set the schedule? Why does this look like a long stretch of quicksand out the front door and a minefield out the back door? Based on the school's record for retaining coaches lately, this looks expensive - real expensive - like enough to retire and live very well to a ripe old age after two years on the job. Now about the guarantee that 5 star prospects will be beating down the door so that talent won't ever be a problem.
What are you trying to say? I don't know what your point is, except to convey negativity. This firing of Dooley is good news. We're finally addressing the problem and heading towards recovery. We CAN pull a solid coach and I think Hart will do the right thing here. He seems like a smart dude that understands what's at stake.
