I'm sorry but you have your facts wrong if you think the cupboard was not bare when Dooley got here. I'm not defending him and the dismissal was the right choice, but he inherited a program that was down about 25 scholarship athletes and very few next level type players. I for one think the program has a much better foundation to build on now than it did when he took over. His record totally sucks though and he needed to win games this year.
