I am not sure how many more coaches will be 3 and out due to the delusional expectations of this fan base. Phillip did something amazing. What he did was not Tennessee football but the high water mark. Until you all get your expectations in order you will always be unhappy. This is not one of the elite programs. Hart made the remark that it has many historical hurdles. Go tailgate and be happy. The days of 10 wins per year for 16 years is long gone and left with the Hall of Famer. You all wanted this change so enjoy.

It seems to me that you are blaming fan expectations instead of wanting to hold coaches accountable. You can keep your cynical attitude toward what IS success if you like, but you really should look at Dooley's performance objectively. Historically, it has been the worst run by 1 coach in the history of UT football. The play call blunders and opposing team highlight reels were an embarrassment. And though many fans thought a 9 win regular season was going to happen, by all indications, most, including the AD, would have been in favor of him getting 1 more year with 7 regular season wins.

There are those of us who were quick to want Dooley gone. I am one of those. It was based on the fact that he came in with a weak résumé and I saw very basic and fundamental errors on the field which I rarely saw at UT. He isn't a good coach no matter what measure you use. We consistently had Top 20 recruiting classes so you can stop with the talk about no talent. We returned a lot of starters this year and got worse in many respects. There was not much progress on the field. There are only a couple of SEC schools that would tolerate 3 losing seasons in a row.

If Hart makes a good hire, the fans will give him a chance. If he stinks it up, then he will get fired too. But let's get 1 thing straight. It won't be the expectations that causes the next coach to fail. It will be having 3 straight losing seasons.
