Historically, Tennessee was a Top 10 national program in wins and winning percentage before Phillip Fulmer and we can get back to an elite program status again.

It will be more difficult in today's SEC, and it will take time, but with the right coach we can get back.

I believe Derek Dooley would have earned a fourth year if we had made progress this year and won seven games. Nobody with a half-grain of horse sense really thought we would win more than eight or nine games this year.

Dooley was fired not just because he lost, but because of how he lost with the worst defense in Tennesee history in what at worst should have been a progressional year.

Before Phil Fulmer? Are you nuts? Maybe pining for Johnny Majors still?

Coach Fulmer is one of the most successful coaches in the history of the game, and his accomplishments did much to burnish the Tennessee brand.
