Absolutely, Saban runs the pro-set and Gruden knows what to do to shut it down NFL style. Also, once Gruden gets his name out there 4 star athletes will flock to him guaranteeing UT will have quality athletes to compete with..
Bivolar - Vol in Orlando - agree with you most of the time but let's analyze this just for a second. I was a season ticket holder for the Bucs in 2004-2007 - there was a lot of hype after Gruden won the Super Bowl in 2002 and everyone went nuts down here. He did come in here and added a few sparks to Tony Dungy's offense to win that year but let's remember how they won....defense - and the million dollar question is... who was the d-coordinator that anchored the fierce Tampa 2 for close to 15 years - you got - none other than Lane Kiffin's daddy. When word spread that the old man might join his son at first Oakland then at the college ranks the Bucs started to deteriorate and eventually Gruden was fired. Not because of only the defense maybe getting dismantled but Gruden had a 500 record, one playoff wild card game after the superbowl victory and it was a loss to the Redskins, but also there were bad decisions made at the quarterback position - which he is the master of. This is who Gruden signed after Brad Johnson (try not to laugh). Griese - 2004, Simms 2005 - Gradkowski - 2006, Garcia - 2007 - this is what ultimately brought him down and got him fired and I doubt if the old man will be coming back to join him anytime soon. I like Jon Gruden. I have met Jon Gruden. I am just not sure he would be a good fit at Tennessee, but if hired I will embrace him!! Food for thought!! Go VOLS!!
