If Gruden is the guy and has agreed to be the next coach/signed a contract it makes sense to wait until at least after the Kentucky game to announce the hiring as to not take away from the final game for our seniors.

Nov. 30 is the day before the SEC championship game and would cause a huge national buzz, but why not go ahead and make the announcement on Nov. 27 or 28? There would still be plenty of talk about Gruden on championship weekend, but by announcing it Nov. 27 or 28 Gruden would have a chance to get a jump on recruiting.

I do believe if Gruden does take the job it will be announced sooner than later -- by the end of next week. By now he should know if he wants to in the NFL again or at the college level.

My first choice really is Jimbo Fisher at FSU. He might be as long of a shot as Gruden, and might not have the major WOW factor that Gruden has, but the guy can coach. As another story pointed out, Fisher might be getting tired of FSU not getting the respect it might deserve in the BCS rankings.

Gruden is a great coach, but he isn't the only great coach out there. It seems as if Tennessee and Dave Hart are willing to pay big bucks for a proven winner and the next few weeks will be interesting to see how things play out.

I am convinced though that the only thing as bad as waiting for the ax to fall on Derek Dooley is waiting to find out who the new coach will be.
