This is a first in my life time, I agree with a hip hop mogul? I believe Al Golden will be the new coach of the Vols. It makes the most sense.
I tend to agree and have felt for quite some time that he was the most logical choice. He's won in two very difficult situations: at Temple, who was kicked out of the Big East for being "non-competitive" (Ouch!), and at Miami, a team just off of NCAA troubles and with more NCAA problems on the horizon and who, apparently, conveniently forgot to let him know this was coming. He can recruit South Florida, he's a defense-minded coach, (former LB at Penn State), we can afford him, UT is an upgrade (in facilities, tradition, and conference affiliation), and he's reportedly disgruntled at the Canes' self-imposed bowl ban. And realistically, if a school self-imposes a bowl ban in anticipation of an NCAA investigation, that can't be a good sign. Miami's season is over so he can start immediately both to assemble his staff and hit the recruiting trail. He's young enough to be energetic but old enough that were he to succeed it would be unlikely he would leave until he retired. He's not as flashy as some would like but he has all the things we need and he's about as risk-free as you'll find short of a guy with a NC in his pocket. Go Vols!!!
