It is interesting to compare and contrast how the local soothsayers try to cheer up the gloomy masses.
John and some of his companions tend to champion the SEC and remind their contingent that UT is indeed in the SEC and that alone leaves the possibility of good things happening sometime in the future.
On the other hand, the folks on the radio (Doc, Jeff, and Heather) seem to take a different tact. They prefer to poor mouth other teams and shine light on their problems in order to make UT fans feel better about themselves.
A different medium, a different psychology.
But both an attempt to take the reader's/listener's mind off of just how bad the problem has become with the University of Tennessee athletics.
Best to mind your own business.
