We absolutely had Gruden! Read between the lines people. Gruden's agent said he hadn't spoken to Hart, which is true. The talks with Gruden went through backchannels. Who do you think would have access to approach Gruden? Who already owns an NFL franchise and who is Gruden's favorite player?

The money was there and the deal was set. The sticking point was Gruden's independence from the rest of the UTAD (think Saban) which Hart wasn't for. The Chattanooga Times original report came from 100 yards off of the 6th tee at Chattanooga Golf and Country Club.
