As Phillip Fulmer was inducted into the Hall of Fame it became apparent to UT AD Dave Hart, who was in attendance, not pass on an opportunity to have the legendry National Champion coach and Hall of Famer as the new head coach of the Volunteers. Hart offered Fulmer the job immediately after the former coach made his induction speech.
