The Headline should say: "UT Fans Screwed Again." Seems that the only people being treated properly are the dough bellies that have extra funds. When I heard that the students were going to be charged to attend, I knew that an end to the era of Saturday electricity in the ole stadium had passed. Those people sitting in those armed chairs, especially on the west side, come to the game as a social event. They sit there and chit chat and rarely watch what is going on down on the field. Our band across on the other side don't even know when to play and when to be quite. Several occasions over the last 6 years, the band has prevented us from making audibles or to miss audibles. The paying students just don't have the enthusiasm like they did when I was in school. Tickets are priced so high that folks can't go to a game as a family. Students making noise in the sports bars down on the strip has no affect whatsoever. And one last thing...if you are of retirement age, it is just hard to climb all the way to the seats at the top. I didn't feel safe up there when I was 25. Now, I just sell my ticket and go to the sports bars with the fantastic, super student fans.
