I don't remember hearing about her when she was in HS, but I distinctly remember the announcers saying that she was told by the UT staff that she wasn't good enough to play there. They may just have played that up to make a story. Just shows that any staff can make mistakes. Even so, she reminded me of Angie Bjorkland; a deadly shooter when she is on a roll, but maybe a step slow on the defense against perimeter players and not big enough to guard the posts. She certainly had it going yesterday, though; enough "want-to" can overcome almost any physical disadvantage.
