Recruiting is a methodical rotational type thing.

Top recruits start getting talked to, sent letters, met in person and invited to Summer camps in their Sophmore years to beging to develope a relationship with the kid and his parents.

CDD and staff obviously skipped lots of high schools even in Tennessee and never built any kind of relationship with the coaches or their players so CBJ is starting our WAY BEHIND on the right way to recruit for Tennessee and that's not his fault.

You should never expect a really good recruiting class for the first year or 2 when a coaching change is made because all the relationships made by the previous staff are just as gone as the old coaches are.

From what I see and have learned through research CBJ hired really good coaches that can do an excellent job of teaching the kids everything they must learn to become better people and players.

I also see him hiring good recruiters that will build our player roster back up to SEC quality expectations over time.

Another positive is that CBJ also brought in some coaches/recruiters that do have SEC experience and knowledge and that have recruited for SEC programs before so they will already have some relationships with some high school coaches in place.

CBJ has a 6 year contract and we are back into a total rebuilding mode so it's going to take us several years to build back up year by year and class by class until we're back on top in the SEC again but I do believe that CBJ is the man that can get it done if we'll all simply shut up with all the immature negative garbage and just do what real fans do....support our coaches and players.
