Tyler Bray and Tennessee has been an uncomfortable relationship from the get-go. He didn't get many big time offers out of high school, except maybe USC, where he would have been a third string QB. And, with Lane Kiffin as coach, UT seemed like a good choice.
His three years at Tennessee have been mercurial at best. He and Dooley obviously clashed, and there's no reason to think he would have enhanced his draft position under a new system if he had stayed.
The guy's no Peyton Manning, and for all his talent and accomplishments, he'll be leaving UT with little love lost among fans because of his immaturity, recklessness, and inconsistency. However, without him, it's hard to imagine how bad things could have been.
Because he's now a former Vol, I think all UT fans would wish him well, and hope that in his new career, he'll represent the university and himself with class and a passionate work ethic.
Well said. One has to wonder how well he would have looked in the fans eyes if he had played anytime the previous 30 years. Dooley will go down as the worst coach in history and unfortunately for Bray he had to see it first hand. I think he could have a good career with some solid coaching and the right situation.
