Phillip Fulmer's comments on the new head coach are being interpreted as a rousing endorsement on one of the chatboard sites.

That is clearly not the case, though. Fulmer said clearly the new coach's biggest challenge is national recruiting, something which Fulmer said this coach and his staff had never had to do.

While he may have shot his mouth off, claiming the best staff in the U.S.A. would be here, Jones people so far have brought two from Cincinnati with them---which is low at best;

and they have recruited a couple of three star legacies that would love to come here...but under better recruiters would not have the opportunity.

Because Jones immediately pandered to East TN and West Tn fans who think their recruits are as good as from other states---

and note that Fulmer said Jones MUST recruit nationally, so Fulmer knows better than Jones's goofy comment that sucked up to the Tennessee local high school fans---

so now Jones is trying to save Dooley's recruits---which were ranking 42nd---and bringin a TWO STAR OL from Cincinnati...a THREE STAR WR who runs a 4.6 (the legacy), and an OL from CAL who was not recruited heavily by West Coast schools---a 3star. (A THREE STAR DL coming from CA to TN????????? )

Right, Coach Jones.

Best staff in USA.
Get those TN HS athletes---who would be going to UTMartin, UTC or Arkansas State, if you did not offer them a ship. Now THAT's real recruiting.

Phillip Fulmer is UT loyal, and would not say anything about a succesor head coach at UT for anything. But he clearly knows...and Jones is clearly trying to politick his way into fan approval.

Just win in the SEC, Coach Jones. That's all it takes. Win the SEC East...and that starts by winning recruiting battles for FOUR STAR AND FIVE STAR jocks---NOT 2 or 3 star players.

Really, they hired the Cincinnati coach, who won at Cin...using his predecessor's athletes??? Dooley and company did not recruit well enough to save Jones here, like Kelley did at Cincinnati.

This staff is bad news---just like the basketball staff.

UT Men's sports is in the tank, and will be there for years.

Come on out Phil we know you're in there.
