Why is Butch Jones offering scholarships and hosting visits with players that are scared of competing in the SEC?

Exactly! About all you're going to hear on this thread is a bunch of childish blather that suggests that our return to national relevance - much less promimence - is some sort of silly birthright in which coaching and recruiting really dont matter. All from the..."stars don't matter" crowd! Tell that to Nick Saban.

If this kid had signed with us, the children here would have proclaimed this marginal player the next Outland Trophy winner. Don't sign with us and it's automatically..."Well..He wasn't any good"...or..."Well..We didn't want him anyway". It makes you wonder if they even watch football, much less know anything about it.

How many times last year did we have to listen to nonsense about the greatness Devrin Young was destined for - a kid that couldn't walk on at Bama. Did they even watch last night? If they did, who in their right mind believes that this bunch, served up by an incompetent Dave Hart, is going to take these guys who's previous best offers were Cincinnati, Ball State, and Indiana, and compete with Bama and Nick Saban. Nick Saban, who along with Muschamp and Richt are signing future 1st round NFL draft choices every year! We didn't have a star rating system in the 60s and 70s, but anyone who believes the likes of Hall of Famer Chip Kell was some kind of 3 star who just "really wanted to be at Tennessee" is crazy. The only way we return to competetiveness in the SEC is having not only someone who can coach, but recruit as well. That's not fantasy pixie dust about "tradition and facilities" and "Devrin Youngs that really want to be at Tennessee", and it sure ain't faith in Bama Dave Hart.

Now...watch all these children start their name calling at anyone who dares to tell the truth...anyone who disagrees with their Pollyanna view of the state of Tennessee football. Better yet, watch them go and run to the site nanny and cry, which apparently is the mark of what most here think makes a Vol.
