That's a nice sentiment and all...but facts are facts---The only things these kids have done on the field on gameday have been marginal at best. Almost non-exhistent.

I get what you're saying about the "star factor". But, signing more and more players with good ratings increases your chances of having an outstanding team. Signing kids with poor/average ratings increases your chances of having a poor/average team.

I agree with you on a statistical level. However, just going out and getting all 4s and 5s just because that is how they are rated is not going to work either because those ratings seem to be based solely on the athletic skills that have been displayed. They do not seem to be based upon character, intelligence, determination, work ethic, or potential. I have coached youth sports for over 30 years and have seen young kids who could not do anything develop into the best kids in town as they matured, etc. Maturity comes earlier for some than others. That factor alone may account why some get more stars than others (i.e. they are as good as they are going to get as H.S. players). College coaches want players who are going to be their best in college. The best college coaches are good at determining that. I do not know how good Jones is at that. I am willing to give him some time to find out. I would suggest that you would be less frustrated if you would do the same.
