During the 90's and early 2000's, Fulmer took advantage (recruiting) of pathetic coaching in the SEC, and he won. When Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Carolina established themselves with a decent coach, Fulmer could not beat them. Spurrier was a good coach, and Florida owned Tennessee. Had Fulmer remained the coach, the program would be no better than it is now.
