That's odd that CDD gets an offer right away and Fulmer after 4 years is contemplating a return to coaching at ETSU.
Not odd at all. If Fulmer had been 50 when UT fired him, there would have been a number of schools that would have wanted to talk to him. Now that he is 62, he is considered to be over the hill. I know that is absurd, but that is the conventional wisdom. Bill Snyder is the only notable exception I know of, but that was a totally different situation than Fulmer’s.
The ETSU opportunity is something different. There aren’t that many quality coaches who would be interested in rebuilding a program from scratch. This would be a little like Watson Brown going Tennessee Tech.
