I do. When something is razed to the ground, as the men's side of the UT athletic department has been, it takes a while to raise it back up. Further, even when it is raised some, it will seem even longer when the competition is so very high. No, it was 47 years between UT's last two national championships and I expect it to be at least that long between the last one and the next one.
What also doesn't help is when people persist in myth making - Dooley was a good guy but just couldn't win because no one could have - Dooley left us in much better shape than when Fulmer was fired - At least Dooley really cleaned up the program....None of these things are rooted in a scintilla of truth.
Add to that, the now quaffing and gobbling down of the free Bubbleup and rainbow stew that Dave Hart served us up in Butch Jones. In case you haven't noticed, it's January 28th and all Jones has to show for his efforts are prospects with offers from Cincy and a volleyball player with an offer from Stoneybrook. Nobody expected Jones to overtake Saban in recruiting, this year, but sooner or later you do have to get somebody that someone else actually wanted, if you want to compete in this league.
And on January 28th, the time for myth making and swilling down free Bubbleup is running short.
