Actually the question should be how does a team play 39 min and 30 seconds with only 4 fouls. There were two intentional fouls after 39 min and 30 sec. in an effort to prevent UT from getting a shot. No the game was not very well officiated and few women's games are very well officiated. Graves was all UT had inside last night and that will not work very well in future games. Burdick is getting back and that will help. 9-10 times Graves was trying to score under the basket and could have been a foul called but officials chose not to call a foul. Several times Lady Vols slapped ball away and officials chose to call a foul. Too much discression in basketball officiating as to allowing contact and not allowing contact. But the best team won, even though the best team did not prevent their opponent from driving the lane for layups and setting screens for open threes. Yes foul shooting needs to improve but so does overall shooting. It still appears that there times when players dedide that they are going to shoot no matter how many defenders are present. The first two baskets were two of the only 9 assists this team had last night. This LV team needs to continue to learn to share the basketball. Yess turnovers will probably be the downfall of this team. In each of their losses this season they have had uptics followed by extended periods of foolish turnovers, throwaways or silly, unmakeable shots. Get it together and if you can get enough players healthy you can make a run. The best is still to come even though I often think back to the North Carolina game as one of the best any recent UT LV team has played.
