Surprised you didn't point out his use of "cross-reVerAnce". Pretty sure he meant "cross-reFerEnce"; the other usage would seem to "cross-over" into your territory(;-P)!
Oops! I see that he did at least have an "e" in the last syllable both times he (mis)used that term. My bad.
