One of the committee's main criteria is how you are playing at the end of the season. If the Vols win out the regular season they will be 20-10 overall and 12-6 in the conference. With quality wins over ranked Wichita St., Kentucky and Florida. A one point loss to Georgetown is looking much better now too.

Not to mention UT fans travel well so there is that aspect of putting a hot UT team in the tournament.
