As much as I have read about this case, there seems to be little mention (and concern) for the victim based on comments from Coach Franklin. This incident will certainly produce at least two lasting outcomes.
Number 1 will be a very costly and expensive monetary settlement from Vanderbilt University to the victim. Number 2 it will most likely insure Vanderbilt will be Coach Franklin's last major college head coaching position. (No reputable college will consider him for a head coaching job). Additionally, we are witnessing a Vanderbilt University double standard. Most reputable colleges would dismiss a student who has been accused by a Grand Jury of conspiring to cover up a major crime regardless of the outcome because character has come into question.
Chris Boyd should be dismissed from the University and be allowed to transfer to another school in which questionable character is not a concern of that institution. My guess is that Chris Boyd will be playing for the Vandy Black and Gold before the season is over. After all, when you lay down with wild dogs you should expect to wake up with fleas.
