From one old devotee of "dead trees and ink" to another, I feel your pain! Truth hurts, but we just ARE among the last of a dying breed. The fact is that most people these days would probably rather be shown than read stuff for themselves, and the younger they are the more pronounced this trend seems to be. Marshall McLuhan may have been right when he said "the medium is the message". People who are accustomed to reading just process information differently from those who grew up with TV and especially so with those who grew up with today's electronic media. Literacy as our generation grew up conceiving it will be as dead as illuminated manuscripts in Latin before too much longer. I'm almost glad I likely won't live to see its death.
