Which high school football team is most likely to win a state championship?

I don't think it takes a great deal of editorializing either way to demonstrate that, on paper at least, the Tide is the significantly stronger team. Of course, the purpose of playing the games is to determine how relevant the statistics actually are. By any objective standard, the Vols for the last several years just haven't had the physical wherewithal to stand toe-to-toe with the big boys. Even so, there was always the feeling that they didn't get all they could have out of the talent they did have. This team still has some obvious holes but they have shown that they can play above their talent level on more and more frequent occasions. They have to do that today to a superlative degree to have a shot at reversing the Tide, but I expect them to give a good account of themselves. No pressure on the Vols, but it will be up to them to put some pressure on the Tide. If both teams play to their talent level, the Tide should roll.
