Scrimmage stock report

Is their stock going up or down? Here's Mike Griffith's take on the "scrimmage stock report:"

Rising Stock

QB Brent Schaeffer: Still makes mistakes, but making more big plays.

QB Erik Ainge: Shows great poise under pressure, and didn't let five dropped passes affect his disposition.

WR Robert Meachem: Smooth routes, soft hands, great speed.

DT Tony McDaniel: Showed up bigger than ever before in first scrimmage.

RB Gerald Riggs: Started the scrimmage as the starter and did nothing to lose the spot.

RB David Yancey: Walk-on continues to find ways to make yards.

RB Corey Larkins: The best combination of speed and vision in the backfield Saturday.

LB Omar Gaither: Sure-handed tackler led team in stops, but still no place to start him.

CB Jonathan Hefney: Stronger cover skills than any UT freshman cornerback seen in a long time.

CB Roshaun Fellows: Seems to get an interception in every scrimmage.

FS Corey Campbell: Shows up in the big games and scrimmages; forced fumble, recovered fumble, and some nice hits.

Falling Stock

WR/DB James Banks: Has done little to resemble the playmaker he was the first six games of last season.

RB Jabari Davis: Trying to do too much with each carry, needs to get back on track with blue collar yards up the middle.

C Jason Respert: Shotgun snap over 6-6 Erik Ainge with blitz coming must be reckoned with.

WR C.J. Fayton: Too many drops, too many times. Athletic playmaker has yet to perform consistently.

WR Bret Smith: Bitten by the injury bug once again (foot). Smith could be special if he stays healthy.
