Remarks by Fellows get Dawgs' attention

Bulletin board material doesn't have to be accurate to be effective.

"That's good stuff," Georgia coach Mark Richt said of Tennessee freshman cornerback Roshaun Fellows assessment of Georgia's wide receivers. "That's the kind of stuff you don't even have to post. All you guys (reporters) will ask them about it and tell them about it.

"There will probably be some pre-game hype on it that helps motivate our kids, for sure."

UT plays at Georgia on Saturday (3:30 p.m., WVLT).

When discussing bulletin board material on the SEC coaches teleconference, a reporter alleged Fellows stated that Georgia's receivers were not as good as Louisiana Tech's wideouts.

For the record, Fellows said Monday he believed Florida's wide receivers presented more of a challenge than Georgia's. Fellows was complimentary of Louisiana Tech's wideouts but did not compare them directly to Georgia's wideouts.

Asked how he responds when a player provides bulletin board material for upcoming opponents, Richt said: "I would just tell them that it wasn't very smart and he better back it up."

As for the match-up, the Vols struggled against Auburn's passing game last week losing 34-10. Tiger quarterback Jason Campbell threw for 252 yards and two touchdowns. Campbell threw for 240 yards in the first half. Last week, Georgia quarterback David Greene threw for five touchdowns as Georgia beat LSU 45-16.

"The only thing I see is some inexperience," Richt said when asked about UT's defense. "I see very talented guys who can run and hit. They've got all the ability in the world.

"There are times when they look uncertain from time to time, but not a lot. You can tell sometimes that their inexperience is showing."

Richt said Georgia's practices this week have not been as intense as last week's preparation for LSU.

"We had a physical practice (Tuesday)," Richt said. "I thought it was a good practice but we looked a little more tired.

"The guys are trying to respond as best they can. I have to keep an eye on them and make sure we don't wear them too thin."

Richt said his team might have had more energy last week because they were coming off an off-week.
