Best and worst

Best Call: Ole Miss coach David Cutcliffe phoned close friend Randy Sanders, UT offensive coordinator, following the game to offer congratulations.

Worst Diaper Dandies: Two fans in the Georgia student section wore diapers with No. 7 and No. 10 orange jerseys to mock UT freshman quarterbacks Erik Ainge and Brent Schaeffer. They held a sign that said: "2 tickets: $50. 2 great outfits: $20. 2 freshman quarterbacks: worthless."

Worst Embarrassment: By the end of the game, the guy in the Schaeffer jersey had been shamed into putting a pair of khaki shorts over his diaper.

Best Celebration: Jason Allen paraded around the field with the giant orange Tennessee flag and was booed when he waved it in front of Georgia's student section.

"My adrenalin was flowing,'' he said. "It was something to give back to the fans. We appreciate the fans for traveling with us. They are loyal fans.

Best Compliment: Sanders said, "Georgia is one of the three or four best defenses we've played since I've been at Tennessee and I've been here 21 years."

Best Decision: Sanders said he thought it was wise to keep the ball on the ground as much as the Vols did. "If we had dropped back and thrown it 40 times I feel like Erik Ainge would probably be covered in ice bags right now,'' Sanders said. "Their pass rush was that good."

Worst Gamble: Georgia's failed fake punt with 2:55 left in the third quarter gave UT possession at the Bulldogs' 40, changed the momentum and brought back memories of a failed fake punt that doomed UT against Georgia in 1973 during the Bill Battle era.

Best Comment: "What is it the old-timers tell you? You can't play two monster games in a row,'' Georgia announcer Larry Munson said as the Bulldogs piled up numerous penalties the week after a sharp performance against LSU.

Best Wrinkle: Tennessee used 6-foot-3, 270-pound fullback Cory Anderson as a wide receiver in the first half.

Worst Goat: Georgia tight end Leonard Pope was called for holding UT's Corey Larkins, which nullified a kickoff return to UT's 2-yard-line.

Best Motivation: Tennessee defensive back Brandon Johnson said he was fired up playing away from home: "The home crowd doesn't understand that all they are doing is getting you more pumped up. It's kind of what our fans were doing to Florida and Florida came out ready to kill us. I carried some controlled anger out there and channeled it."
