"They will be here," UT sports information director Bud Ford said Monday.
Both undefeated teams are ranked in the top 10 of this weeks USA Today/ESPN Top 25 poll. The Vols (3-0, 1-0 SEC ) are No. 8 and the Tigers (4-0, 2-0) are No. 9.
Kickoff is set for 7:45 EST on ESPN.
ESPN College Game Day began touring the country in 1994 and features host Chris Fowler and analysts Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit.
The ESPN set will be located at Thompson-Boling Arena on the east ramp facing the stadium.
It will mark the seventh time the College Game Day crew has been in Knoxville. The most recent visit was November of 2002 for UTs loss to Miami.
The Vols are just 2-4 when College Game Day has been in Knoxville. Auburn is 1-3 when College Game Day has been on site, including 0-2 on the road.
