The logos do not take the place of the university's main sports symbols -- the orange Power T for men's teams and the orange-outlined T with Lady Volunteers in blue for the women's teams.
Referred to as "secondary" logos, the newly created symbols incorporate various images of Smokey, the school's blue-tick hound mascot.
A secondary logo that is a capitalized Vols in orange block letters with Tennessee in white above it will take the place of two old symbols featuring Davy Crockett and his rifle and a star with the word Vols.
Two of the new logos feature a Smokey puppy sitting next to a Power T and a Lady Vols T. A head of a more serious-looking adult Smokey is featured in a logo with the words Tennessee Vols.
The other two logos are ovals around the head and neck of a snarling Smokey, dubbed by the university as "Competitive Smokey." One has an orange background with a round Power T dog tag, and the other has a blue background with a round Lady Vols T dog tag.
