Warren plans whistlestops

Brandon Warren isn't waiting for the fall to begin touring the college circuit.

The Alcoa High School star is planning a two-week venture to some of the top schools in the South. LSU, Florida State and Miami are all definite stops. Florida's campus in Gainesville is also a possibility.

Warren said the campus tour will start later this month. First, Warren will attend UT's senior camp on Saturday.

Warren said he hasn't thought much about recruiting recently because of more pressing concerns. He has been caring for his mother who is recovering from successful kidney surgery performed this week.

"I'm just pretty much waiting because I haven't had time to think about," Warren said about his college options.

A 6-foot-2, 230-pound tight end/defensive end prospect, Warren is widely considered one of the top 100 prospects in the nation.

His teammate, running back/linebacker Dustin Lindsey, committed to UT in March.

Warren's visits this summer will be unofficial visits. He said he plans to take five official visits this fall.
