Kentucky extends all-star streak over Tennessee, 41-28

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - David Jones' fourth-quarter streak down the near sideline helped Kentucky preserve a streak of its own.

Just seconds after the Tennessee All-Stars evened the score late in the fourth quarter, Jones broke free for a 98-yard kickoff return to provide the decisive score in Kentucky's 41-28 victory Friday night at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium in the Tennessee-Kentucky All-Star Football Classic.

The win extends Kentucky's winning streak to four games.

"We wanted to win it," former Maryville High School standout Cade Thompson said. "They've got a lot of talent. It's tough to beat a team like that."

Thompson was tough to stop for much of the night.

Entering the game for the first time in the second quarter, Thompson guided Tennessee past the 50-yard line for the first time in the game. The South Carolina signee completed four of his first six passes to guide Tennessee to a field goal and cut Kentucky's lead to 6-5 with 7:16 remaining.

Tennessee signee Lamarcus Coker set up Tennessee's next score with a 43-yard punt return. One play later, Thompson hit Travis Sikes for a 12-yard touchdown and the go-ahead score.
