The Wisconsin State Journal reported Friday that Smith, who will be a senior in the fall, could commit soon after taking an official visit to Wisconsin this weekend.
Smith has played AAU basketball with new UT coach Bruce Pearls son, Steve, and came to Knoxville on an unofficial visit soon after Pearl accepted the Vols job.
Rivals.com ranks him the No. 27 junior player in the nation.
