1992 The amazing, tackle-breaking touchdown journey Mose Phillips would later make at South Carolina turned out not to matter. The 66-yard TD run through a monsoon with a swing pass from Heath Shuler against the Gators in a 31-14 UT victory did.
1993 Shulers five TD passes would have been heroic in victory, but in a 41-34 loss, Nilo Silvan's fumble on the second-half kickoff was more significant. Danny Wuerffel's TD pass on the ensuing snap made it 28-14 Gators and changed the momentum.
1994 No hero. No goat. Florida's 31-0 superiority eliminated any drama.
1995 Jay Graham had several heroic runs in his UT career. His Florida legacy, however, was fumbles on consecutive possessions that fueled the Gators' rally from a 30-14 deficit to a 62-30 lead.
1996 There were few dark hours in Peyton Manning's career but this was one. Four interceptions in the first half of a 35-29 loss equaled his total from the entire 1995 season.
1997 Little Jacquez Green flew under UT's radar, catching eight passes for 185 yards in a 33-20 Florida win.
1998 Jeff Halls overtime field goal set up the goat horns for Florida counterpart Collins Cooper. It may be the only missed field goal to jiggle a seismograph. But there would not have been any overtime had Al Wilson not forced three Florida fumbles in the first half.
1999 Alex Brown would have become the only defensive end to win the Heisman Trophy if voting had taken place the day after Florida's 23-21 win.
2000 Jesse Palmer-to-Jabar Gaffney was Florida's heroic combination. To UT fans, official Al Matthews was the goat.
2001 Travis Stephens (226 yards rushing) was heroic all
night. Only Herschel Walker ever gained more yards against
Florida.
Seldom-seen Buck Fitzgerald was heroic for one play, preventing Gaffney
from catching a game-tying two point conversion pass.
