UT athletic director Mike Hamilton had been pushing to have the game
played in the afternoon because of concerns about motel/hotel space for
fans. An afternoon game would have allowed UT fans to drive in and out
of Baton Rouge on Saturday.
Much of the hotel space in Baton Rouge is being taken up by victims of
Hurricane Katrina, who have lost their residences in New Orleans and
elsewhere along the coast.
It might also be necessary for football team to alter its plans and arrive in Baton Rouge on the morning of the game instead of the night before.
The game will be televised by ESPN.
