No other recruits are coming in this weekend, so the 6-foot senior at Memphis Bolivar Central High School will receive all the attention from the entire Memphis staff when he begins his official visit to the school this afternoon.
"I'm looking forward to it," Kemp said Thursday. "I'm ready to get (my recruitment) over with and just make a decision (on college)."
Unfortunately for Tiger fans, that's not necessarily what it sounds like.
Though Kemp said he is indeed ready to end his recruitment, he added he doesn't intend on doing so this weekend. Instead, the 39th-best prospect in the nation, according to ScoutHoops.com, has also scheduled a visit to Kentucky for next weekend. After that, Kemp indicated he will choose between Memphis, Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee.
"I won't make a decision until after I get back (from Kentucky)," Kemp said. "After that, I'll probably take like a week, and then I'll know what I'm going to do."
As for what he's going to do this weekend, that's easy.
Kemp will enjoy nice dinners, a tour of the campus and the Tigers' football game against Chattanooga. But because he's visiting on the same weekend as Calipari's annual coaching retreat, he'll also spend time in the Finch Center with, among others, Larry Brown and Isiah Thomas.
"I know all the guys who are going to be there are great coaches," Kemp said. "It's just going to be a pleasure to meet all of them."
