On Monday, he announced sophomore Erik Ainge will start at LSU on Saturday night.
Fulmer said he based the decision on Ainges arm strength and mobility two qualities at which he is considered stronger than senior Rick Clausen who started against Florida.
Fulmer acknowledged a need to get the issue settled early so Ainge would not have to look over his shoulder all week waiting for a decision.
This will be the second time in three games Fulmer has switched starters. Ainge started the opener against UAB.
