Rebs tweak offensive line once again

OXFORD, Miss. — While Ole Miss rushed for a season-high 162 yards and allowed just one sack against Wyoming, the Rebels are still looking for ways to solidify their offensive line.

This week, sophomore Darryl Harris will move from his starting center spot to left guard, and senior Tony Bonds will take over the starting center spot.

''Darryl was really good at guard for us in the spring,'' coach Ed Orgeron said. ''We feel he's not performing at center the way we'd like him, too. We'll put him at guard and see if that combination works.''

After rotating eight offensive linemen, offensive line coach George DeLeone said it's time to get the five best players on the field.

''We want to get more of a cohesion with the five guys working together,'' DeLeone said. ''We're still investigating some possibilities. We're getting closer. Obviously, the pain of the loss diminishes anything positive that came out of the game. But as a coach, you have to step back realistically and look at what happened and see what we did good and what we need to improve on.''

Injury update
Orgeron said receiver Mario Hill (hamstring) and safety Jamarca Sanford (knee) are listed day-to-day for Saturday's game at Tennessee. Both players participated in Monday's workout, which was in T-shirts and shorts. Orgeron added that he doubts linebacker Patrick Willis will be back from his broken finger and sprained knee. Willis did not practice Monday.

Quick turnaround
One of the few advantages Ole Miss will have going into Saturday's game at Tennessee is the fact the Volunteers played at LSU Monday night, then returned home to get ready for Saturday's 11:30 a.m. CDT kickoff.

Orgeron said he and his staff planned to call recruits, as they normally do on Monday nights, while watching the Tennessee-LSU game on TV.
