Two dislocated fingers not slowing Clausen

Rick Clausen is known as a tough player. He proved that once again this week.

The Tennessee senior quarterback suffered two dislocated fingers on his right non-throwing hand Monday in the Vols' 30-27 overtime win against LSU.

The injury did not affect him in practice this week and is not expected to be a factor when UT takes on Ole Miss today at 12:30.

"Rick's fine," UT coach Phillip Fulmer said. "He got his fingers dislocated and put back in place (the night of the LSU game), but he's a tough guy."

Ironically, Ole Miss quarterback Michael Spurlock suffered a similar injury last week in a loss to Wyoming. He too is expected to start.

Fulmer also said Clausen suffered a minor foot injury in the LSU game.

"He has had a sore foot, but he's better here close to the end of the week," Fulmer said.
