Brigade cuts ex-Vol Kelly

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Just months after appearing on his first Kansas City billboard, former University of Tennessee quarterback Andy Kelly's days as the face of the Brigade are over.

The Arena Football League team cut Kelly on Wednesday, three weeks after the 13-year veteran quarterback had been demoted in favor of backup Chris Sanders.

Kelly, the AFL's all-time leader in passing completions, attempts and yards, threw a league-high 13 interceptions as the Brigade limped to a 1-6 start. He hasn't seen the field since.

Kelly was one of 14 players whom the Brigade inherited from the New Orleans VooDoo. Kelly could not be reached for comment.
