Paige to visit Knoxville

Ahmad Paige and Luther Davis are coming to Tennessee after all.

Davis, a 6-foot-4, 260-pound defensive end from West Monroe (La.) High School, told the News Sentinel last week that Paige had decided not to visit UT because he planned to commit to Florida State.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pound Paige said he’s looking strongly at Florida State, as well as LSU, but wouldn’t close the door on UT.

Paige said he wants to visit UT this weekend because it will be his last chance before he announces his college choice on ESPN on Aug. 19.

"I can’t give Tennessee a look unless I get there," the wide receiver from Sterlington (La.) High School said.

Paige and Davis are considering UT in large part because of wide receivers coach Trooper Taylor. Their relationship with Taylor has helped convince them to take the trip to Knoxville.

"I don’t think there are too many coaches out there like him," Paige told the News Sentinel last month. "He’s told me numerous times before, ‘If you come to Knoxville I’m going to take care of you.’ I really believe that."

Paige said he will use this weekend’s visit to see how he might fit in with the Vols’ offense.

"I want to see how many (wide receivers) they’re bringing in, how many they’re losing, the offense they have planned for me," he said. "I have a list of questions."
